Emmanuel Macron: It’s time for renewal

Almost three months before the European elections on 26 May, French President Emmanuel Macron made a passionate plea presenting his ideas for a renaissance of Europe. The article was simultaneously published in newspapers in all 28 EU countries.

“Never since the second world war has Europe been so essential. Yet never has Europe been in such danger”, Macron writes. But Europeans must not resign themselves. “The nationalists are mistaken in claiming to protect our identity by withdrawing from Europe. It is our civilisation that unites us and makes us free.”
