Michael Schemel
Director of Information and AI Technology at UnternehmerTUM – Germany
Michael Schemel is the Director of Information and AI Technology at UnternehmerTUM. Previously, he held various management and leadership roles in consulting firms, specializing in technology. Currently, he’s a member of the Artificial Intelligence working group at Bitkom e.V.
Last year, Michael was involved in the German American Conference 2023 at Harvard, bringing together aspiring leaders from Europe and the US. He’s also a member of the Young Transatlanticists Initiative, dedicated to fostering dialogue and solidarity between the young generations on both sides of the Atlantic. As a Stanford alumnus and a member of the German Stanford association (GSA), Michael is passionate about strengthening ties between Germany, the EU and the US. He lives in Starnberg.
Influenced by his grandfather, a democratic honorary mayor, Michael has a deep appreciation for the importance of pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, and justice in society. He learned pro-European values from his grandfather and experienced firsthand the benefits of living in the EU through his studies and exchanges.
Michael hopes that Europe continues to inspire great minds who will enrich the continent and its values.
