I am a German/American dual citizen who studied in the UK and lives in Berlin, so I’m keenly aware of the freedoms made possible by the EU. In parallel, I’ve watched the internet create innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital money which transcends all borders. Indeed I feel my generation becoming “sovereign individuals” whose physical location depends solely on where is most desirable to live and work. Europe enables and encourages this next step of our global citizenship, by standing up for democracy and cooperation, removing barriers and unifying markets, and presenting the opportunity for its citizens to live and work freely.
