Germany has voted and faces significant challenges: security, competitiveness, and a deteriorating infrastructure. In response, the CDU/CSU and SPD are preparing a €500 billion debt package while also considering a relaxation of the constitutional debt brake—an ambitious endeavor.

Against this backdrop, Günther H. Oettinger will analyze the key outcomes of the German elections and their potential impact on Europe on 25 March 2025. According to the German constitution, the newly elected Bundestag must convene for its first session by that date at the latest.
