Event Details

Günther H. Oettinger, President of United Europe, will provide at our second ” Member’s talk” a view on the EU relationship with the US post inauguration of President Biden on Thursday 18 February 2021, 06:00 – 07:00 p.m. (CET).

Joe Biden’s arrival at the White House is in the European Union associated with many hopes for a reset of transatlantic relations. As far as foreign policy is concerned the expectations are justified as Biden is striving to regain lost faith and also intends to intensify the cooperation with Europe again. Biden also stands for the hope of a return to multilateralism and a rules-based international order. But as to trade and climate protection there may only be a change of tonality rather than facts.

The discussion will be opened by Mr Günther H. Oettinger who will give a briefing on the current state of play.
This will be followed by an open discussion with feedback from the members of United Europe.
