Event Details

On Wednesday, 21th April, 2021, 17.30 hrs, Günther H. Oettinger, President of United Europe, will provide  a view on “The macroeconomic status of Europe during and after the pandemic” at our third “Members’ Talk”.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic can be felt throughout the whole economy. After more than 10 years of Europeans arguing about investments, solidity and savings, yesterday’s rules no longer apply. The Corona pandemic caused the EU’s economic output to decline by a fifth in some places in the second quarter of 2020. The extent of the second and third wave is not foreseeable.

For the first time, the EU is getting into debt on the financial markets to finance the €750 billion temporary recovery instrument. What consequences are to be expected for the macroeconomic status of Europe during and after the pandemic?

Günther H. Oettinger would like to involve the members of United Europe in the current political debate on European issues, inform you about the current state of European politics and obtain your feedback on European policies.

The “Members’ Talk” will be opened by Mr Günther H. Oettinger who will talk about the current state of play, followed by an open discussion with feedback from you, the members of United Europe.
