We are delighted to invite you to the event Hydropower for Germany’s Energy Security, organised in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy and illwerke vkw.

In times of change, stability in energy supply is more important than ever. Hydropower – especially pumped storage power plants – makes an indispensable contribution to stabilising the European interconnected grid. With the Lünerseewerk II project, illwerke vkw is investing over 2.5 billion euros in what will be the largest hydropower plant in the German-speaking region – a milestone for the energy transition.

After welcoming remarks by H.E. Dr Alexander Marschik, Austrian Ambassador to Germany, and Mag. Markus Wallner, Governor of Vorarlberg, you can look forward to insights from:

  • Andreas Jung, Member of the German Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group
    and the CDU Germany
  • Christof Germann, Chairman of the Board, illwerke vkw
  • Peter Heydecker, COO Sustainable Generation Infrastructure, EnBW
  • Gerd Wegeler, Member of the Executive Board, illwerke vkw

Afterwards, we invite you to round off the evening with Austrian specialities in a convivial atmosphere.
