Green deal Roundtable: online member’s talk on European Policies

Günther H. Oettinger, President of United Europe, would like to involve the members of United Europe more closely in the current political debate on European issues, inform you about the current state of European politics and obtain your feedback on European policies. To this end, we would like to set up an online roundtable, which gives members the opportunity to get involved in the European discussion.

You may have read many things about the ambitious plans issuing from the EU commission for a new green deal, a greening of our economy to deal with the threat of climate change and the dramatic impacts it can have on the lives of EU citizens. These initiatives are to be welcomed but perhaps not the mode of implementation. There has been an inadequate level of impact assessment by the EU institutions on industry. It is all good and well aiming to green the economy but this will be pointless if it achieves this only by killing off the economy in the process.

The discussion will be opened by Günther H. Oettinger who will give a briefing on the current state of play in Brussels.
This will be followed by an open discussion with feedback from you, the members of United Europe
