Europe is not facing yet another crisis, but rather a structural test. Hybrid threats, geopolitical shifts, and growing technological dependencies are transforming the security-policy landscape faster than strategic responses can be developed.
Against this backdrop, the fifth F.A.Z. European Conference, taking place on September 9, 2026, at the Allianz Forum in Berlin, will address a central question:
How resilient is Europe—economically, technologically, and politically—in a new world order?
Under the theme “Bright Minds Move Europe Forward,” the conference will bring together leading figures from government, business, academia, and strategic institutions. The focus will be on an analytically rigorous dialogue featuring clear positions and well-founded perspectives.
The European Conference will be opened by Günther H. Oettinger, President of United Europe. Other confirmed speakers include Antti Herlin, CEO of KONE; Stefan Kapferer, CEO of 50Hertz; and Klaus Welle, former Secretary-General of the European Parliament and Academic Chair of the Wilfried Martens Centre.
