Fausto Gernone

PhD Candidate at UCL – United Kingdom
I am a competition economist with a focus on industrial ecosystems. At the heart of my research there is the idea that value creation is a collective phenomenon. In other words, growth is a team effort. As such, it is important to design poli cies that adopt a systemic perspective, accounting for the interconnectedness of various elements of the stack.
I am currently completing a PhD at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose while carrying out policy analysis and advisory work for governments around the world. Prior to and during my PhD I have been working in the field of consulting for various years, specialising in innovation policy, Intellectual Property Regulation, Standard Essential Patents, antitrust and coordination, mergers and State aid.
