Capucine Amez-Droz

International Economist at Banque de France – Germany
The European continent is at a pivotal point: resuming with growth and prosperity swiftly to preserve its unique set of values and culture or taking the risk of collapse.
Throughout my academic journey and the first steps of my career, I have witnessed the increasing importance to promote a strong EU to be credible on the international scene.
As a civil servant and international economist at the Bank of France, I am deeply involved in advancing an agenda to foster prosperity and uphold European sovereignty within the Eurosystem and beyond. As geoeconomics is becoming the new normal, it is critical young leaders bridge the gap between academic fields as well as the public and private sector. To overcome increasingly complex challenges, we need to be agile, open-minded and bold.
I am European not only by heart, as I cherish our immense culture, but also by conviction as the world is becoming more and more adverse and volatile. In this context, Europe is our greatest asset as nations but we have to make it happen. Prosperity, stability and peace should never be taken for granted. We have to work towards it faster and stronger. The statu quo is no longer an option. United Europe creates a unique and important platform to bring together talents from diverse generations and countries throughout Europe to share ideas and build this strategic vision for our future.
